A test post from Second User

“Second User” is really me, Violet, testing to make sure registered users can publish blog posts. And it looks like they can!
I encourage everyone to kick the tires and figure out how to use the software. If you’re a registered user from the mailing list and you’d like to contribute a blog post (think of it as a diary!), either login or click Site Admin in the right-hand sidebar under Meta. Inside the WordPress admin panel you will have the option to “write a post.” Click on that and you’ll be taken to the WordPress template.
It’s pretty simple — just enter a title in the Title field and then enter your text in the big editing box below. There are options to Save it, save it and keep editing, preview, or publish. Publish puts it out here on the front page.
I realize this isn’t as fancy as DailyKos or MyDD, but I put it together quickly for immediate use. I’ll work on adding in more functionality (and prettiness).
UPDATE: Note that you don’t have to be a registered user just to comment. The security level is now set the way most blogs are (including my own): visitors may comment if they enter a name and email address for authentication. The email address you enter is secure and never appears publicly or anywhere it can be harvested.

Can we add a donation link to the Clinton campaign? Got a good picture of her?
