Why I will not vote for Obama even if he’s the nominee — and why you shouldn’t either

(cross-posted at Reclusive Leftist)

The Obamabots are under the delusion that if Obama wins the nomination (which he hasn’t yet, by the way), all of us in the Hillary camp will forget about the misogyny and come over to their side. Make nice for the sake of party unity. Forgive all the abuse.

Nope.

Several of us have tried over the past couple of months to explain why that won’t happen, but the Obamabots don’t seem to understand. And I know why: it’s because they don’t take sexism seriously. When women say we will not reward misogyny, we’re laughed off. The Obamabots just tell more jokes and hurl more insults and write more crass articles about how the little lay-dees have their little pan-tees in a twist.

The only “ism” the Obamabots take seriously is racism. So I’m going to try to explain the situation in terms they’ll understand, using a racial analogy.

******

Imagine this scenario:

The shoe is on the other foot, and Obama, not Hillary, is the punching bag of the media — a media that is blatantly and unapologetically racist. And I do mean blatant. Jokes every night on the cable news shows about Obama’s hair and his fondness for fried chicken. Pundits laughing about what a problem uppity Negroes are.

Across the country, racists openly ridicule Obama and his candidacy. In mainstream stores there are gag gifts playing on racist themes: maybe a (water)Melon Baller with Obama’s head on the handle, maybe a Barack Obama Shoeshine Set — you get the picture. 501c groups invoke the most grotesque racist slurs with their advertising; T-shirts say “Quit Running for President and Shine My Shoes!” Anybody who protests is branded a fool and a spoilsport.

Online, Hillary’s supporters constantly refer to Obama and his supporters as n—–s and c— -s and all the other epithets I refuse to type out. Blogger Boyz blog about those stupid lazy Negroes who are still wallowing in memories of the Civil Rights era, too dumb to get with the program and vote for Hillary.

And the lies: Obama is constantly lied about, belittled, demeaned. His record is distorted, his character impugned. Every day the pundits and the Blogger Boyz urge him to drop out of the race, to remember his place, to give up his seat to the white woman. All in the interest of “party unity.”

And nary a word of reproach from Hillary herself. No denunciation at all of the relentless racism. In fact, she actually cracks a few racist remarks herself, albeit subtle ones. She jokes and nods with the media about “letting” Obama run as long as he wants to. And when she makes speeches about American values, she talks a lot about women’s rights but never mentions civil rights. She’s strikingly silent on the subject. Even when she delivers a major address on the importance of rooting out bigotry, she neglects to mention racism at all.

Just to make the analogy even more apt, let’s further imagine that some key civil rights issue is on the table — say, voting rights. For forty years the Democrats have been on the side of the angels with that one, but Hillary goes out of her way to say how much she admires and respects those Republicans who don’t think African-Americans should have the right to vote. She says judges with a record of opposing voting rights are good candidates for the nation’s benches — even the Supreme Court.

And the Democratic Party goes along with all this, pushing Hillary as the nominee, ignoring the anger of African-American voters, smugly assuming that they’ll “come back to the fold” by November. After all, say the pundits and the Blogger Boyz, where else are they going to go? The Republicans are even worse.

*****

If you’re an adult American with even half a lick of sense, you know damn well that there is no way black folks would stand for that crap. There is no way any self-respecting African-Americans in this day and age would take that from the Democrats. It’s inconceivable that anybody would expect them to.

Because dig it: if the Democrats carried on like that, they wouldn’t be any better than the Republicans. And they sure as hell wouldn’t deserve the African-American vote.

Why should it be any different with women?

If Barack Obama and his supporters become the new Democratic party, then the Democratic party will no longer be the party of women’s rights. There will still be women in the party, naturally, but basic respect for women as citizens will be a dead letter. It will be the party of John Roberts and anti-choicers and the most virulent outbreak of public misogyny I’ve ever seen. All the sexism of this campaign will be rewarded instead of repudiated.

And that Democratic party will not deserve my vote.

And it’s not just women’s rights at stake. Social Security, health care, sticking up for the working class — those things are important. The Democratic Party is supposed to be the place where those things are defended, not dismissed. The place where those values are embraced. The place where, at every turn of American history over the past century, underdogs and reformers and humanitarians have found shelter.

That’s why I won’t vote for Obama. I’ll be sending a message to the Democratic party: if you want my vote, then you need to earn it. If you throw me under the bus — me and my sisters and my grandparents and my friends and everybody in this country who isn’t a rich man — then to hell with you.

Go on, Democrats, try to get elected without me — me or any of my friends. See how far you get. Go on with your bad self.

And when you figure out that you need my vote, give me a call.

What is simply amazing to me is that Obamaphiles really don’t believe us - they truly think we will “get over it” and vote for their boy.

Are they in for a BIG surprise. Not only will I not vote for him - ever - I will actively campaign against him.

I won’t vote for Obama for many reasons, but what has truly offende me most about his campaign is the use of race-baiting since NH. As soon as Hillary won, his surrogates showed up on TV claiming the Bradley Effect, in effect accusing Hillary supporters of being racist. That was when I decided I would never vote for him. It just got worse when the Clintons were both accused of being racist. From SC on African Americans have voted for Obama in spite of the fact that nothing the Clintons have ever said or done could be deemed racist!! I will never understand how that lie was able to take hold and spread.

Obama’s entire campaign is based on lies and he gets away with it!! He is the most divisive candidate in my lifetime and I will never vote for him or for anyone who supports him. If Hillary does not get the nomination I will become an Independent. I am disgusted with all of this.

I, too, will never vote for BO; I can’t get the images out of my mind: his sneering at HRC that she’s “likable enough”; his shunning her outreached hand at the State of the Union; his passive-aggressive flipping her off and then smugly laughing about it the day after he lost the PA primary.

BO isn’t just sexist, he’s an arrogant, opportunistic, immature politician. He’s running not out of a commitment to public service as HRC is, but primarily out of sheer ambition - an ambition so overwhelming that BO allowed his campaign to use race to once again divide the country in order to peel away black support from HRC. Despicable.

I also would argue that BO’s also racist - his white grandmother = “a typical white person.”

I am following Riverdaughter’s advice and reregistering as “unaffiliated” and sending my Democratic registration card back to the DNC. Maybe then they’ll work to earn my vote.

Senator Clinton is walking through the jagged door of hate and misogyny so that future generations of brillant, capable women can pass through a little less battered and scarred. I’ll be damned if I and my family desert her now, when she needs us most. We are, all of us(16 in immediate family) life long Democrats that will never vote for Obama! He’s had many opportunities to rein in the venom coming from his side - venom and hate that we are to beleive that he understands first hand - yet he’s never, not even once shown the fortitude to stand for what was right. He can not be my president. We are all sitting out this election.

I do not want to face this decision. I would like the party to nominate the best candidate and the best leader to become our next President. I cannot imagine a scenario of having to choose between two untenable choices - a neophyte who has run a demogogic campaign based on illusions he certainly cannot deliver (and then what? who is he beholden to? Riots when he acts like a centrist? a leftist? What IS he?) - and someone who has acted with valor in most situations except those that involve civil and women’s rights - Whose well-being do I put first? That of the entire country (experience required there), or the women whose lives I hold most dear? What do I do, then?

My choice may be to write in Hillary’s name or to simply vote down ticket, not voting for President. And how can my vote count if this party cannot find a way to resolve the dispute in FL and MI?

I will not vote for him, I can’t as a woman and as someone who believes our president needs to show they are patriotic…Oh there is such a list that goes on and on about what is wrong with Obama and his wife. I can’t believe how delusional these people are, it’s scary to me.

Age-old dilemma: how to break through a male-dominated and testosterone-powered culture? All the old boys lined up and the young ones right behind them, setting the rules of the game. Seems like a deadend to me, especially when you have Obama-supporting women more vociferous than the men. I resort to simple everyday magic and bonding with like minds, equals the power to befuddle and derail. Maybe these posted blogs and comments can begin to connect and create a base for power of numbers to overthrow this democratic travesty starting now.

Great post - count me in - I feel the same way - it’s this and a host of other things that make Obama unfit to be President.

I will not vote for Obama….ever. The DNC is in for a big surprise in Nov. I will not be treated in this manner and blindly fall in line, not gonna happen.
Hillary has been beat up nine ways to Sunday and with grace and strength carried on her campaign, growing stronger. However, it appears that Obama et al would like her to drop out. Why? Scared? They should be scared….we, women, are a force to reckoned with…we need to stand together and say not this time.

In November if Obama is the nominee I will write in Hillary’s name, click a pic and send it to the DNC…I hope they choke on it. I will be switching to Independent and never again will they be able to count on my vote or my money.

POSTED BY ONE OF OVER 15 MILLION VOTERS FOR HILLARY CLINTON. WE EXIST, AND WE MATTER!

I’m not a women but nI give a shit what happens in America. We do not need more assholes running for office that doen’t give a shit about women’s issues. We are all in this together. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE. I will let the new Dem base win it all, you know they will. They can all eat shit and Die. No Hillery - No Vote, Piss on all you basteads who can’t stand women and want to keep them in their place.

Thanks for this post that says exactly how it is.

And also thanks for remembering to throw in, it isn’t just about women - it’s about all the people the Dems are supposed to be standing up for, but aren’t.

STAND UP SISTER!!!
I love this, and I have been preaching this to so many BObots that I dream about it in my sleep. Thanks you for putting this so eloquently, I plan on using the example you’ve laid out, I think it is a very powerful statement.

It would be hard to state the case against the sexism in this campaign any better than written here. I never thought I could be any more disallusioned than I am now. All the men of the Democratic Party that I thought were princes: Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Bill Richardson et al have turned into frogs. They support a candidate, who finds it okay to give obscene signals to his female opponent. They do not shout out against their candidate’s supporters going on blogs and threatening to cut senator Clinton’s throat, putting her in the boot of a car and sending it into the river among other threats. No way will I join hands with this crew, sing, “Kumbaya” and rush to the polls to vote for the man of their choice. Maybe these frogs wives should read Aristophanes’”Lysistrata.”

I and a LOT of my friends agree with your well said comments. I find it dissappointing that women in the media–CNN, MSNBC, and Fox, almost all of them, have the same attitude. They would not have those positions had it not been for the feminists of the 70’s, and they will be losers if they continue to perpetuate the attitudes. When Obama had his debate with Hillary, and she brought up a subject he didn’t know enought about to debate, and he declared “thats just silly” he sealed his doom with me. That is the age old response of men to elittle the thoughts of women. Neither I nor any of my friends will vote Obama. IN SPITE of his republican roots, I’ve never heard john McCain belittle women, and he is a Patriot!

Shainzona - I’m right there with you. where do I sign up? Get over it? Hell no!

This is a terrific essay! You have my full support. To reward the Democratic Party for this shamelessly sexist campaign would alter the Party beyond recognition and do an infinite amount of harm to women in this country.

My signif other just told me I should read this post, and now that I have, she is right–it’s fantastic!

I probably wasn’t going to vote for him in the general anyway, but this makes really clear just how much I shouldn’t, and gives me a good idea for an e-mail to Boxer and Feinstein and other democrats who might care about my vote in the future . . .

Hey, everybody — sorry about the delay in approving comments. I lost my satellite connection today because of weather.

I will not vote for Obama because he and his ilk have conspired against a woman BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN and I have a sixteen year opld daughter that I raised by myself and a fifteen year old son and they are both equal and precious to me and its about time my daugheter had the same rights as my son!

I am a 58-year old Daddy.

Why don’t we organize a Hillary Cliton write-in effort in order to give Democratic women a choice t vote for her over the party’s choice of Barack Obama? I won’t vote for McCain; I won’t vote for Nader, who may have a place here for Hillary people to vote in protest [and that would be a shame]; and I have trouble staying home. So, could we vote for Hillary anyway in order to show our strength in numbers? This could also help her to show her strength if she has the will to run again in 2012. Can we start a write-in for Hillary as President campaign now?

These are my exact feeling too. I have sent an email to every undecided super delegate today, explaining why they should support Hillary and not Obama. I also let it be known that I would not vote for him no matter what. I have gotten a few responses mainly telling me the party needs to come together. Like you said, if the shoe was on the other foot, you can bet there would be hell to pay. Go Hillary!

Thank you!! I can’t believe how many of your comments were already running around in my head. I’m with you–no vote for Obama if he is crowned the nominee. I plan to tear up my Democratic membership card and send it back to the DNC. I don’t care what the pundits say–Obama cannot win against McCain. Wasn’t anyone watching the last debate? When Obama was questioned about his preacher and other misgivings most of the press had been sweeping under the carpet–he fell apart. He couldn’t handle the pressure. That little bit of pressure during the debate was nothing compared to what the Republican Machine would do to him. The fact that Hillary gets up every morning to campaign knowing what she is up against shows her strength. I’m done as a Democrat if the superdelegates don’t wake up and make her our nominee.

I am a hard working get your hands dirty democrat and I am writing to tell you I am one of the many who will never ever vote for Sen Obama. I am from IL and had to live through Sen Obama. I been through my union trying to bully us into voting for Sen Obama. I been through Sen Obama working for Rezko to screw the elderly, the poor, and the African Americans out of their homes. I been through all of Sen Obama’s “present” and “mistake” votes in the IL senate. I been though Sen. Obama using Rev. Wright to get his street credit to make a run at the IL senate. I been through Sen Obama challenging signatures on the nominating petitions of state Sen. Alice Palmer to screw her out of an election. And I with good conscious can never put America through that. With new information arising of Sen Obama’s dirty deals with Blackwell it makes me even more worried for this party to know they would parade the weaker candidate out there. I am not big on Sen McCain but if I must vote for the lesser of two evils then my vote will go for Sen McCain. You can say I am out to destroy Roe v Wade, voting rights, civil liberties and civil rights but you would be greatly wrong, I am out to save America. Believe me I am fearful for this party and this country and that is why I can never ever vote for Obama and will switch to Independent before Nov. It is not to late to save this party but does require electing the stronger candidate for the Democratic Party and that is Hillary Clinton.

Bravo, Mz Socks! Thank you for your insightful and bare-knuckled article!

I, too, feel the same- I will not vote for Senator Obama if he is the nominee, and will be leaving the democratic party- switching to independent so that I may vote for who I damn well please in November!

Please visit my web page:
http://www.myspace.com/operation_independent
to see what I have planned for Howard Dean and his party of finger-flippers!

Thoroughly at home in your community, Violet. You really drew ‘the big picture’.

How about if we re-register as Independents the moment that the DNC declares Obama the nominee? Wherever you are, get on line and re-register. I will also write in Hillary’s name because I refuse to vote for BO!

Let’s brainstorm ways of attracting supporters to this idea! Could we create a U-Tube video? What do you think?

Let’s brainstorm ways of attracting supporters to this idea! Could we create a U-Tube video? What do you think?

I think a YouTube video is a good idea! I don’t have the software to do it myself; anybody?

I will never vote for him, because let’s face it…he’s unelectable.
This Obama-mania will end when the
Rethuglicans start their smear tactics, and it will be too little too late for these people to go back and say”perhaps we made a mistake”
I will place my bumper sticker proudly, and suggest that more of us do the same, that will read: “Don’t Blame Me….I Didn’t Vote For Him” and underneath that it will say:
“Elect HILLARY in 2012″

Women here, you are not alone. I am a 30 yr. old highly educated, upper middle class man. Statistically, speaking I am supposed to be a member of the Obama CULT. I am not. I am an ardent Hillary supporter. It is blatantly disgusting what the media and the BO campaign has done to Hillary. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER vote for him. I wish more than anything that she would run as an Independent with Mayor Bloomberg as the VP. PLEASE no matter what happens do NOT VOTE FOR BO. Write Hillary’s name in, don’t vote, or vote for Nader or John M. If she doesn’t vote run as the democratic nominee or and Independent then let’s stay strong and pave the way for 2012. PLEASE don’t let the pundits win who falsely assume we will join the Cult and vote for BO in the fall. Stay strong for months and months. Never give in for our candidate no matter what happens.

I feel exactly the same way. I will never vote for Obama. He is a lying, anti american, anti white, condescending nobody and has nothing to offer the presidency. If Hillary does not get the nomination i will hold my nose and vote for McCain. I am a life long Democrat and I also plan to resign from the Democratic Party.

Wow, Violet, what a great post. You’ve eloquently described exactly what has happened in this race in a way that everyone should be able to understand (but probably won’t, because they don’t think sexism is anything serious).

And I agree with you completely. I decided long ago that if Hillary didn’t get the nomination, I couldn’t vote for Obama. I’ve found the misogyny and the race-baiting and smearing to be absolutely contemptible. There is no way I will ever support that, and I don’t care how loudly the Obamabots scream about Roe v. Wade. Quite frankly, Obama hasn’t proven to be any more trustworthy when it comes to women’s issues than McCain has. That won’t sway me any longer. It has become the way the democratic party tries to keep women in the fold, just as the republicans do with the Christian Right. I will no longer bite. Contemptible behaviour should never be rewarded, and Obama and his supporters are beyond contemptible to me. They have become worse than any republican I’ve ever talked to. I no longer recognize what used to be my party. (Probably because so many of it has been thrown under a bus to get this repugnant person elected).

Wow. This is fantastic. I hope this is seen all over the country. Thanks for putting my feelings to words.

Thank you, Reclusive Leftist, you said it beautifully. If Hillary Clinton isn’t the candidate; I’m out. She is the brightest, the smartest, the toughest, the best. She has been maligned and abused by the MSM and the party; her supporters have shared her pain. Enough is enough. I will not vote
for Obama. In fact, I will not vote Democratic at all, no matter the office. They can kiss it goodbye.

DEAR VIOLET,
Some of us in the media have worked to create YouTubes for Hillary, but we don’t have the money to make our work on her behalf “go viral” so that people will hear about it and spread the word. Obama’s people understand how powerful YouTube publicity is; and they have spent a fortune to make pro-Obama videos get millions of clicks on YouTube.
Here’s one we did called HILLARY’S A LOVIN’ MAMA, OBAMA. In this music video, we take a very strong position, [with warmth and humor and music], that has yet to be advanced in her behalf: Hillary is a [very fine] mother - the Earth needs a mother! In the advertising world we would call this her “unique selling point” — and this “USP” can be the very thing that may speak volumes to vacillating women voters -yet to vote in the upcoming primaries.
Please see it and spread it. Here’s the link:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZdV6kaPAG-Q

We have also made an anti-war video called “231 YEARS OF WAR” which illustrates our point that the “fathers” have had control for too long. It’s time for our mother to run the country.
Please see it and spread it. Here’s that link:

I am one-half Native-American and the rest a true WASP, have three beautiful grandchildren, all of which are of mixed race, which doesn’t matter one whit to me, but should show that we could not be racist if we tried.

I originally campaigned for Sen. Obama because I, too, was caught up in the inspirational rhetoric. This was not the first campaign I have worked on and hopefully will not be the last. So I expected to get call sheets right away. This was early in the campaign, about a year ago. You can imagine my surprise when after making about a hundred calls, I realized the campaign that was not about race, but unity, was only calling black voters. But I continued on, thinking well maybe we are just checking demographics. About a month later, I was given new call sheets and for the first time ever, was placed in a private office to make these calls. I discovered that I was now calling white voters and the vitriole I was hearing was not going to change. It became very evident to me, that there were certain people who would never ever cast a vote for Obama. These were the people we are now hearing from in the polls. Blue collar workers, women, Reagan Dems and I have been calling it the southern “BUBBA” voters. I was saddened at the time, but knew (and this was last May) that Obama would be unelectable. I withdrew from the campaign and stayed out of it for a while. I knew I would have to get back in, being the yella dawg that I am and started researching the candidates. After a week or so, I realized there were a lot of things that were not appealing to me regarding Senator Obama.

That is just the background to let you know me and my reasoning. I feel I pulled away for good reason and I did my homework on the candidates, after the initial inspiration wore thin.

I have since been called every vile, nasty name in the book; racist, bigot, idiot, backwards. I have even been told that I am a liar, I never worked on the campaign and if so I was a plant for the Hillary campaign. I am so sick of this that for the first time in my life, I will not vote if Hillary is not the candidate and it really pains me to say this. I have always voted and felt pride in my choice.

How do I counter these feelings? I just cannot vote for him. When I first pulled away, my feelings were along the lines of, we have two wars, an economy going down the tubes, home foreclosures, gas prices soaring, the last thing we needed was to be involved in a race war, but I see it coming and it frightens me.

So true and now the mean stream media have gone even further. Hillary was naming her base, which has been in the news as coming from exit polls etc.

Today the pundits are yelling racist at her for saying the adjective white when listing her base.

They know very well what they are doing by claiming racism because they want to lable us badly. They know full well that most of us care little about race. We dislike BO for a variety of reasons and we have listed them over and over.

It’s because it is our right to say we want someone whose background is know, who has experience and who would be a president for all people, not just the rich, kids and college professors.

This Race Baiting thing is not only a joke, it is impossible:
Why is it that no one anywhere has brought to attention the fact that Senator Obama from Illinois is actually a white American? Does Mr. Obama have a problem with this reality? You would think he’d be proud as an American to declare his Mother’s roots. (ex. Irish American, German American, etc.) He is not “African American” in the sense that our People are. Being American and Kenyan, the Senator is a brown American by color and a white American by race.

Since he has no black roots in this country or it’s history, it seems as though it is not truly about race, but rather color. In the way he identifies himself, he should be running for office somewhere in Africa. From what I hear they could really use a little “change” in their governments. His Church could back him in this ministry.

It troubles me that he can classify Americans in every which way and he just skates around pretending to be something that he is not. If it weren’t for his white granny, the guy wouldn’t even be American. And if it weren’t for his “former” pastor, he would have nothing to cling to.

Since it really isn’t about race, he’s just another guy that needs to sit down and shut up.

He is filled with little ironies - We need to change “washington as usual” we need to get rid of the “washington insiders”; “she’s just more of the same” and on and on and on.
Excuse you, but why then did he not decline the endorsements of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry and Bill Richardson?

And further, if Super Delegates should vote for their States primary winner? Then who is it these guys should be endorsing?

Guys, I think we should form a coalition or a group online where we have a letter for people to sign that we can send to the DNC indicating why we will not vote for OBAMA even if he is the candidate and how we will either vote third party or anything else. Lets collect signatures and send it over to Dean and Pelosi, they need to know, if MI and FL aren’t seated orHillary is pressured to drop out, the democrats will not win the GE. Who’s down?! Lets do this.

i am in agreement with all the bloggers
do you think it’s TIME to take some
REAL ACTION?
perhaps we should organize a
REAL march in our cities or
something visible in the coming
weeks? or at the convention?
this election has been completely biased against hillary clinton
I WILL NOT VOTE OBAMA
no intelligent person/woman in their right mind should.
i have written to the DNC & signed petitions.
i feel there is a NEED for something MORE.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

CALIFORNIANS FOR HILLARY CLINTON

I won’t vote for Obama under any circumstance. Even if his thugs held a gun to my head I would just as soon they blow me away as vote for someone I know is a danger to the country I love.

Obama and his supporters are the most disrespectful and rude people I have had the misfortune to run across. Honestly they are worse than the worst Republicans. Self important jerks like Kos are far worse than Limbaugh at his absolute worst.

I will keep fighting for Hillary because I believe in her. But should she not win, and the nomination is given to Obama despite his racist, misogynist and terrorist ties, I will either sit out this election or vote for McCain.

I hate to admit this but I have decided to leave the Democratic party after 35+ years of loyal service. I do not recognize the party I once called my own. It isn’t what I used to support. Howard Dean is the worst Chairman of the DNC in my lifetime and Donna Brazile is, well… I can’t even go there and remain civil.

These fools that have hijacked a once inclusive Democratic Party believe that they can marginalize or ignore the needs of so many once loyal supporters. They don’t think that we matter. We who have been on the front lines for years helping to bring about equal opportunity for all Americans have become the people Hillary calls The Invisible. I could take it coming from Bush because to me he is a pompous spoiled punk with shit for brains. But to come from the democratic party is to me unforgivable.

Should Obama gain the nomination I will work actively to defeat him and the Democratic Party. If someone wants to call me a traitor so be it. I know that I have been loyal when others have wavered. The Party I loved for so long and loved unconditionally has abandoned me and so many others.

Above all things I am an American citizen.

Democracy is not a political party.

Sadly, it takes a big “2X4″ type of blog such as this one to “break through the clutter” of the rational discourse that Obama, his campaign, and especially his supporters so arrogantly dismiss.
This is a great object lesson. I hope it gets much wider play.

AMEN! Lets see OBama getting elected without us woman!

Ok folks- time for some action! THERE IS a petition you can sign stating you will not vote for Obama.
You can find a handy dandy link at
Hyper educated Uppity Woman- grr, let me go get a link- brb
ok here is the link to Uppity’s blog- she is awesome by the way
http://tinyurl.com/6q88k4
Any way the goal is to get ten thousand sigs. So RUN to Uppity Woma’s blog and look for the link- it’s on the right.

I will NEVER. EVER. vote for that anti-american, terrorist loving, woman hating racist, so help me God.
If the Dem party nomintes him, I will be activley working against him winning the GE (not gonna be hard work either- the 527’s don’t even have to lie!)

I have written so many places that I would not vote for a racist if he wore a white skin and I will NOT vote for a racist with a black skin. Obama accused Bill and Hillary Clinton of racism in order to get 90% plus of the black vote. He is too dangerous to be president if he would do that dispicable thing. I will vote for John McCain and I will donate money to John McCain if Obama is the nominee. I have told the DNC that and I have told the DFA that. They had damned well better believe it because I am not bluffingl.

Karen, I can’t agree with you more. There are many reasons why I won’t vote for Obama, and one of the most fundamental reasons why I won’t vote for him is that he and his campaign played nasty race card against Hillary. Look, if over 90% of blacks want to vote for a candidate of their race, this is racism. These blacks don’t even care about the country. They don’t care if a fresh man from the senate who has never passed any legislation or accomplished anything can actually lead the nation. They can forget about all the good things have clintons done to them and then turn around stab them from behind. They can ignore a long list of bipartisan accomplishments that Hillary has achieved and how hard she has fought for middle-class families such.

No, no, no. I won’t reward racist and selfish behaviors. No, no, no, I won’t tolerate misogynism in this country. I am also deeply disappointed and angry with the democratic party. From this election, I have seen the true color of many democratic leaders. They are stupid. They think they can win without Hillary. so we will prove to them that they are wrong. They want to nominate Obama for whatever ulterior motives or old grudges they hold against clintons. then go ahead and screw up your party. I’m not a democrat any more. I’m an independent.

I think we should also sign up and write a very serious letter to the democratic party. If Hillary is not on the TOP of the ticket, we will not vote or even vote against. I don’t accept Obama on the top with Hillary as Vp. This will be the biggest joke in history! A stronger candidate is forced to be VP while a sneaky immature guy stays on top, so when they win and go to the white house, Hillary does all the dirty work and Obama takes all the rewards! No, no, no, not such a thing. I don’t reward this guy. He runs on his words and empty promises, but Hillary runs on real solutions and actions. I don’t want Obama to get away with it!

Thank you, Thank you, Violet. My sentiments, exactly. And don’t you worry your pretty little head now about leaving the party…the big shots, like one Donna Brazile, have already told us we aren’t necessary…so…guilt won’t cut it, will it? oh…well…could we please get a list together of all those states that allow write ins? Just in
case it’s necessary… ;)

Okay, folks, let me make something clear: African-American support for Obama is not racist. It is completely understandable community pride. AAs have had a horrible history in this country, starting out as slaves and only winning full civil rights in my lifetime. For them to come together as a community and support the guy who might be the first Black President is completely understandable.

Amen, Candy! I couldn’t have said it better myself. I did visibilty for Hillary with a black woman today. She said there is as much racism in the black community and they have no right to hold it over white people’s heads. It’s time to forget and move on…

Ladies—–we have a major voice—it’s time to use it!!!! Just wait til this Friday—–the women in the 6 main swing states (Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Missouri) are going to unveil a plan to convince the superdelegates to vote for Hillary or they will put together a comprehensive campaign in the fall to take Obama down. If the Democratic Party thinks that we will just sit down and be quiet because we’re so loyal, they have something coming to them. Who do you know in those states who can join up with this group?
Also, we need to put together a very long-lived public demonstration nationwide against any and all NBC outlets as a protest for the misogyny that they perpetrated. Did you know that the CEO of GE, the owner of NBC and MSNBC, is a fanatic Obama supporter? That’s why they are willing to go to such great lengths to skewer Hillary at every turn. We need to put our money where our mouth is. Is there anyone out there who can organize a MAJOR demonstration at the MSNBC national headquarters in NYC? Let me know—cruccia@aol.com.

I applaud you. This article literally gave me chills it was so good. My sister is an “Obamabot,” as you call them, and she actually told me that if it were up to me, “black people would still be slaves.” Now, I am not by any means racist. I judge people based on their character, not their skin color, and to do anything else seems absolutely ludicrous to me. I cannot even fathom such behavior. Their entire campaign is based on racism, and if you don’t support Obama you’re automatically a racist. Such behavior makes me see red, and it’s why I will NOT, I will not EVER, vote for Obama. This is supposed to be the land of the free, where everyone has an equal opportunity, and where such “archaic” thoughts like racism and sexism are supposed to only be on the minds of Americans when we’re trying to improve the negative minded actions and behaviours of other countries. However, Obama has made that impossible. There has been too much attention paid to race and gender in this election. I am sick of people saying they support Obama because it’s time that a black person had some power, and that they won’t vote for Hillary because she’s a woman, or a bitch. Well, to that I say F*** you. F*** you, sexist and racist democrats! I am sick of it. I originally supported Hillary because of her ideas, character and experience. Not because of the revolutionary idea that hey, a person with a va***a could be just as good as a person with a p****s running this country. I will see her through this campaign, and if the democratic superdelegates are too afraid of being called racist, if they’re too cowardly to make the decision that’s best for this country, the John McCain is getting my vote, John McCain is getting my monetary support, and John McCain is getting ALL of my energy to help his campaign. I will not stand by and do nothing while Obama turns this country into a battle ground between whites and black. I will stand by and do nothing while Obama and his unamerican ways (read:wife) try to take charge of America. And I will NOT stand by and do absolutely nothing while Obama destroys the integrity of this country even more than our current president has.
So, Violet Socks, I applaud you. I applaud you for not giving in, being cowardly, and most importantly for not being weak. That is what they expect of us Clinton supporters, and they will not get it. Stand your ground women, and lift your heads high! Because we are not racist, but we will not allow our gender to be denigrated like this. This is our time to make history, and we stood on the sidelines before, believing that African-Americans deserved the right to vote so much, that we put our own rights on the back burner, and put theirs before us. But that time is gone, we deserve this and Hillary deserves this. She is the more qualified candidate and it’s time we showed America that sexism is not a joke. Sexism will not be tolerated. We will not sit by and let it slide and accept it as part of life. It is not part of my life and it should not be a part of yours. Stand strong, and believe in Senator Clinton. Because she can do this, but she needs our help and support. Let this article inspire and incense you. It should. And then use your emotions and do something about it. Do something that shows that just because we are women, it does not mean that our voice should not be heard!

I agree with every single person who has said that if Hillary Clinton isn’t the Democratic nominee for President, I will become a registered Independent — and I will never, ever vote for Barack Obama. I am tired of his misogynistic campaign, and tired of the lies he’s told about Senator Clinton — or at least the lies his advisors have told about Senator Clinton.

As for those who are voting for others but leaving the top of the ticket blank — don’t do that. If you vote for all other Democrats, and you leave that top of the ticket blank, the people in the state office will kindly “fill in” your “intention” to vote for President — and your vote will go to Barack Obama.

My advice is simple: write in Senator Clinton’s name. That way you can prove you did not want Barack Obama, if it comes to that.

However, my best hopes are that it does _not_ come to that — that the Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee will realize they’ve backed the wrong horse, someone who has a good chance of losing 49 of 50 states in the fall — and that the best and most-qualified candidate will be the winner — Senator Hillary Clinton.

Because she’s for every voter in every one of the _fifty_ United States (not fifty-seven; why wasn’t the mainstream media all over Barack Obama’s gaffe?) — including Florida and Michigan.

Barack Obama, in a moment of infinite smugness, has scheduled upcoming campaign stops in Florida and Michigan — I sincerely hope some people from those states will go and picket! (I wish I lived closer to either state; I’d do it myself!) How dare a man who has helped to disenfranchise two states even have the audacity to ask for the voters in those two states to vote for him? Disgraceful!

At any rate, Senator Clinton is the classy, experienced, smart, tough candidate — she is the best choice for President. Vote for her in November — even if you have to write her in!

Count me in! All the pundits see that the dems will unite for November for Obama. I’m seething, like most of the women here and I have no intention of changing my mind — even if Hillary campaigns her heart out for Obama. I might add that I have no intention of voting for any democratic superdelegate that threw a vote for Obama before the primaries were completed.
